Update: As of June 25, police are still searching for missing University of Utah student MacKenzie Lueck.

Salt Lake City police are investigating the whereabouts of a 23-year-old University of Utah student who has not been heard from since Monday.

The parents of Mackenzie Lueck reported their daughter missing on Thursday afternoon, according to FOX 13. Lueck texted her parents about 1 a.m. Monday morning from the Salt Lake City International Airport to let them know she arrived from California.

She then took a Lyft from the airport to an address in North Salt Lake City, the last place she was seen, police said in a statement released Saturday.

Police have talked to the ride-hailing service and to the driver who picked Lueck up at the airport.

The investigation “has not discovered any information that would lead us to believe that Mackenzie has been harmed or is in danger at this time,” police said.

The statement added, though, that “detectives are concerned for Mackenzie’s welfare” and ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact Salt Lake City Police at 801-799-3000 and reference case No. 19-111129.

Ashley Fine, a friend of Lueck’s, said she missed work at her job at a Millcreek medical lab and missed classes at the U., where she is studying kinesiology.

Fine said she and other alumnae of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at the U., of which Lueck was a member, spent Friday putting up flyers around her neighborhood west of the university.

“We went by her home. We wanted to be close to her,” Fine told The Salt Lake Tribune, adding that they also talked to neighbors and asked them to keep an eye out for Lueck.

Fine has also been posting pictures of Lueck on social media. “We’ve been spreading the word across the nation, around the world,” she said. “We have to do everything to look for her, because I’d want her to do that for me.”
