I appreciate the news media coverage following the terrorist attacks in London. What is disappointing is within 24 hours of the London attack, six people died and more than 20 were wounded in another attack in Mexico. And the media were nearly silent.

In visiting USA Today, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, New York Times and Wall Street Journal, there was barely a whisper.

Locally, The Salt Lake Tribune didn't cover it. KSL, however, did.

Not our president, no members of Congress, no one said we stood ready to help Mexico. We didn't express our solidarity. No celebrity offered a tweet. We simply ignored it.

We made promises to stand with France and England. It appears the only time we care about Mexico is when it offers cheap labor and all-inclusive resorts.
