Here’s another target for DOGE to look at. Despite the fact that the U.S. has its own large network of private prisons that employ thousands of U.S. workers, we are paying to send gang members to a foreign prison.
This is a horrible example of exporting millions of dollars to another country for which we receive no product imports in return.
It supports jobs in another country in an industry that we already have operating in the U.S.!
What is the rationale for denying American workers these jobs? Why are we paying to transport these prisoners to a foreign country (El Salvador), taking the jobs of our prison workers and income for our prison industry with them?
DOGE needs to step in and fix this travesty!
