Letter: Throwing our lives and world markets into chaos, couldn’t our incessantly golfing president at least have said ‘Fore!‘?

(Manuel Balce Ceneta | AP) President Donald Trump, right, plays golf at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020.

If you play golf, you know this word means “look out, trouble coming your way.” So it’s amazing that our president went to play golf after throwing our lives and world markets into chaos without saying “fore!”

Further, on a day when so many of us are watching our retirement savings get hammered, he is playing golf at the Saudi sponsored golf event. Deepening his family’s financial ties with Saudi royalty; a relationship the conservative New York Post questions. Let’s also note that he has played golf on 27% of his days in office this term, costing taxpayers $30.4 million.

Concerning his tariff plan: According to Fox News, it includes tariffs on McDonald Island, an island with no people, but with many penguins. It appears he spends more time planning his tee times than he spends planning his tariffs. Jim Cramer, a pro-tariff investor on CNBC said: “If you wanted to create a stock market crash, this is how you do it.”

In summary, we lose trillions in retirement savings in two days and stress over how we will pay $3,000 more for everyday goods. Meanwhile, Trump spends millions of taxpayer money on golf and to deepen his financial relationships with a corrupt nation.

How many times do you think Trump said “fore” on the golf course today? Why wasn’t he in a U.S. factory talking about how this plan is supposed to bring jobs back? Or why did not attend the “dignified transfer ceremony” and funeral for the four U.S. soldiers who recently died in Europe; events presidents routinely attend?

These are simple questions you can ask our U.S. senators and representatives.
