Letter: Regarding Trump’s nominees, one of Utah’s senators shows promise

(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, left, meets with U.S. Sen. candidate Rep. John Curtis during a watch party in Provo on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that our new senator-elect, John Curtis, was among Republicans opposing Matt Gaetz for incoming U.S. attorney general. And he wasn’t enthusiastic about some of the other Trump picks, saying the Senate vetting process should provide the necessary solution to problematic candidates like Tulsi Gabard, Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth.

The same can’t be said about Mike Lee, who absolutely supports Hegseth, and said it’s time for this frighteningly incompetent and amoral Fox News host to restore “the peoples’ Pentagon”

What on earth does that mean?
