Letter: DeSantis seems prepared to play Russian roulette with an evil madman

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said “helping Ukraine is not a vital U.S. interest.” Really? So, when Vladimir Putin’s army lays waste to Ukraine, then what? Is Poland next? Apparently, DeSantis is prepared to play Russian roulette (forgive the pun) with an evil madman who has no regard for human life and will bankrupt his own country before backing down.

Is DeSantis even familiar with Article 5 of the NATO treaty (an attack on one is an attack on all) or is this just political posturing?

On the other hand, Donald Trump said he would end the war “in one day” upon his return to the White House. That’s good news … assuming he doesn’t go to jail, wins the nomination, gets elected and has the time to concentrate on domestic and international policy while fending off ongoing lawsuits, plotting revenge for those who wronged him and making sure no one around him is smarter than he is … quite a task list.

I guess I’ll stick with Joe Biden. Is he perfect? Absolutely not, but decency and common sense are usually a good bet.
