Letter: Bipartisanship should now be viewed as nothing but just another right wing lie

(Kenny Holston | The New York Times) Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) delivers remarks as the vote for Speaker of the House continues for a fourth day at the Capitol, in Washington on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023.

Given the ridiculous “leadership” display by the tiny new Republican majority in the 118th Congress (15 votes for speaker), I don’t want to hear one word from the Republicans about “bipartisanship” ever again.

They decided to coddle their most extreme elements instead of joining with the Democrats to create a working environment.

The Republicans decided that their ill-gotten “majority,” enabled by liars like George Santos and rampant gerrymandering, gives them a “mandate” to shove their unpopular and increasingly fascist agenda down our throats.

I guess we can put their quest for “bipartisanship” right up there with “pro-life,” “local control” and “respect for the rule of law” as nothing but right-wing lies.

I simply can’t find any truth or honesty in what the Republicans have to say. As this was the party of my youth, I couldn’t be more disgusted.
