Rarely has there been a better example of our need for term limits. It may appear that the Republican members of Congress, including our own representatives and one senator, are still cowering in fear of Trump. In reality, they are only in fear of their reelection.
Can this desire for power truly be so overwhelming that so many otherwise rational and decent people are willing to capitulate their most basic values? Can the feeling of power really be that intoxicating? Can the dollar value be that enticing?
Term limits will certainly bring another type of politician to the fore. They will likely be service oriented and willing to serve their country instead of serving only themselves.
But, of course, it would take an act of Congress ...
