Letter: Vivint arena’s mask mandate turns out to be bogus

(Briana Scroggins | Special to The Tribune) Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

With Vivint arena’s seemingly strict mask requirements in place, we purchased three tickets for the Monster Jam on Jan. 8. When we stepped into the arena, at least half of the attendees were not wearing masks (even though it is now mandated in Salt Lake County). Obviously, the Vivint Arena is not enforcing their own rules. It was not a safe environment, so we left immediately.

When I called Vivint’s customer service to request a refund, I was rudely told it was a security issue and I should contact them.

If you are concerned with Utah’s massive COVID spread, I’d recommend staying away from Vivint arena!
