Letter: Turns out no all long-shot endeavors are “fool’s errands” for Cox

(Kristin Murphy | Pool) Gov. Spencer Cox speaks with media during the PBS Utah governor's monthly news conference at the Eccles Broadcast Center in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.

In an article in the Nov. 19 Tribune, Gov. Cox characterized the task of vetoing the gerrymandered congressional map produced by the Utah Legislature as a “fool’s errand” because he thinks the veto would be overridden.

In the same edition, he also said that, “I don’t know that there’s a limit on how hard I’d push to get an NFL team in the state of Utah.”

So, he’d go to the ends of the Earth to have a pro football team but won’t spend 5 more minutes in support of much needed nonbipartisan election reform.

He is a truly loyal member of the party.
