Letter: If you choose not to be vaccinated, you should pay for your treatment if you get sick

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Pharmacist Kevin DeMass with a dose of the Moderna vaccine at The Apothecary Shoppe in Salt Lake City on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Effective vaccines for COVID have now been available for over six months. If you are eligible to be vaccinated and have chosen not to get vaccinated then it’s your freedom to choose. It’s a choice.

It should also now be the choice of insurance companies not to pay for your treatment when you get sick and end up in the hospital. Your “choice” should not be the burden of hospitals, doctors, insurers and those of us paying health care premiums. You’re on your own — free to choose — and responsible for your choice.
