Letter: Please don’t litter

(Brian Maffly | Tribune file photo) Single-use plastic containers create trash jams in Utah streams, like this one pictured on the Jordan River in Salt Lake City on June 2, 2018.

A wonderful Earth Day picking up litter along the Jordan River with an amazing group of folks. The trouble is we barely touched the surface. If every property owner along the rivers and canals would check their fence lines and make sure they are clear of litter, it would be amazing. In fact, if every property owner, including the state, local governments, UTA and private residents picked up their own areas, it would be an amazing thing. I hope Gov. Cox allocates funds to do this work within the state right away. Look around, things are getting pretty bad. Please don’t litter.
