There is nothing humane about President Biden’s immigration policies.
We’ve seen the video of human traffickers dropping a three-year-old and her five-year-old sister from a 14 foot border wall. Another heartbreaking video shows a ten-year-old boy sobbing because he had been left behind all alone by smugglers because he fell asleep. A six-month old baby girl was saved by Texas Rangers and Border Patrol agents after she was thrown into the Rio Grande by smugglers trying to distract and get away from the Border Patrol.
On the journey through Mexico, most migrants are robbed, assaulted and some are murdered. Suzanna Martinez, former governor of New Mexico, said that children are left behind if they can’t keep up. So, no one knows how many children start the journey and how many arrive. And, according to Amnesty International, “Health professionals report that as many as six in ten migrant women and girls are raped on the journey.”
Everyone who crosses our border must pay thousands of dollars to the criminal human and sex trafficking cartels. They control our border. By sending large groups of migrants (a distraction tactic) to one area to overwhelm the Border Patrol, they can traffic drugs across the border in another area. People are just a commodity, the same as guns and drugs.
Our immigration policies enrich the cartels and encourage human and child trafficking. It’s criminal and it’s shameful.
The “Asylum Abuse Reduction Act” was introduced in the Senate last month. This bill would require those applying for asylum to go to or call a U.S. embassy or consulate in their country or a neighboring country. This would save children and families from making the dangerous trip through Mexico and stop parents from giving their children and money to the criminal cartels.
