Letter: I offer an apology -- and a senator -- to Georgia

(Susan Walsh | AP) Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, attends a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington, Monday, March 1, 2021. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted Monday to advance the nomination of Merrick Garland, President Joe Biden's nominee for attorney general.

Dear Georgia:

My Utah senator (Mike Lee) tells me to apologize to you for attempting to control your voting citizens. And, especially those old people, and perhaps people of any color other than your politicians.

I guess he meant apologize to your marginalized citizens. That, I can do. I’m sorry!

I am going to suggest that we send you our senator in exchange for, well, never mind -- we will let you have him, gratis. He will fit right in.

Craig Dunford, Salt Lake City
