Regarding the newly discovered monolith in San Juan County, I would promote keeping it in place. It should be embraced rather than rejected.
It is unique, simple and beautiful. It also is a nice contrast with the redrock environment, and its satin finish reflects the surrounding area.
Its mystery adds another element to this story. I think it should be considered a gift for all of us. Kudos to the sculptor.
