Letter: How is Hatch feeling now?

(Manuel Balce Ceneta | AP file photo) President Donald Trump presents the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington on Nov. 16, 2018.

OK, so now the federal courthouse in Salt Lake City is going to be named after former Sen. Orrin Hatch. I’m pretty sure there are many who feel the same way my wife and I do about that. We still remember Sen. Hatch’s statement about Sen. Frank Moss and his three terms in office: “What do you call a man who has served three terms in office? You call him home.” Then Sen. Hatch goes on and serves six terms (42 years).

When he cross-examined Anita Hill at the hearing for Justice Clarence Thomas to be appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, he did his best to embarrass and humiliate her.

Finally, before Sen. Hatch retired, he made the statement that he thought President Donald Trump would go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. After seeing how President Trump reacted to losing the election, I wonder if Sen. Hatch feels the same way now?
