Letter: Get a grip, Romney

(Rick Bowmer | AP file photo) Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, speaks to reporters following a news conference Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, near Neffs Canyon, in Salt Lake City.

“I think our party is in trouble with young people, increasingly with older people, with minorities. And those young people we were in trouble with five years ago are now voting, and so we’ve got some real work to do,” Sen. Mitt Romney, the party’s 2012 presidential nominee who isn’t backing Trump’s reelection bid, told CNN on Oct. 20.

Get a clue, Sen. Romney. Your party is not in trouble because it lost the faith of the young, the old, the minorities. Your party is in trouble because it betrayed the faith of a nation for personal gain and agenda, and it willingly abandoned moral, ethical and legal constraints to do so.

The Republican Party drove the getaway car when peacefully assembled citizens were literally targeted for attack by their president, and again when bounties placed upon the heads of our military personnel became completely acceptable to their commander in chief. You have no party, sir. That vile mob illegitimately calling itself the Republican Party should be outlawed in the United States.

How do you find the unmitigated gall to try to normalize the past four years of Republican crime and deceit? How many lives has it cost? Shame on you.
