Letter: We know what to do, but we don’t do it

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Students wear masks as they walk on BYU campus in Provo, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020.

Universal mask wearing, social distancing, appropriate hygiene and hand washing/sanitizing are proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to save lives. As a nation, we know how to prevent thousands of deaths, and to a disturbing degree, we’re not doing it.

It’s unbelievable. It’s stunning. It’s shocking. It’s absurd. It’s self-defeating. It’s stupid. It’s America.
