Letter: Our vindictive president

(Andrew Harnik | AP file photo) In this Nov. 19, 2019 photo, National Security Council aide Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is sworn in to testify before the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington during a public impeachment hearing of President Donald Trump's efforts to tie U.S. aid for Ukraine to investigations of his political opponents. Vindman was escorted out of the White House complex on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, according to his lawyer.

I was appalled to hear that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother were fired and escorted out of the White House.

Vindman was the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, and he listened in on Donald Trump's call to the Ukrainian president.

I was moved to hear Vindman’s testimony. He said he told his father, "You made the right decision 40 years ago to leave the Soviet Union and come here to the United States of America in search of a better life for our family. Do not worry, I will be fine for telling the truth."

And here in Utah, state Rep. Phil Lyman has proposed a bill to censure Sen. Mitt Romney, not our vindictive president bent on revenge.

Really?
