Classic Trump administration: The president tweets that he is targeting cultural sites in Iran for destruction if the Iranians retaliate for our killing their general.

The rest of the world, including President Trump’s staunchest allies, say that would not only be wrong, it would be a war crime. Administration spokespeople try to cover for him and say, “He really didn’t mean that.”

Trump then tweets again and says, in effect, “No, I really meant it.” Then other administration spokespeople say, “He never said that.”

No wonder George Orwell’s novel “1984” is once again a best-seller.
