Letter: Where Utah should look for more tax revenue

(Trent Nelson | Tribune file photo) With the Powerball jackpot estimated at $1.4 billion for a drawing in January 2016, Utahns flocked to the Idaho border for a slim chance at becoming an instant billionaire.

My compliments to Jonathan Ruga, Josh Kanter and Gail Miller for their commentaries In The Salt Lake Tribune’s Dec. 1 Opinion section.

Three people of wealth, including the richest person in Utah, are opposed to the tax cuts being proposed in the Utah Legislature.

Let’s continue to bombard the Legislature with the message that you can’t do what your real intentions are, give the wealthy who don’t need it a tax cut on the backs of those who can least afford it.

Perhaps, ladies and gentlemen, you should look into the big revenue generators all around you. A state lottery and recreational marijuana.
