Letter: Is Jesus really that vain?

(Keith Johnson | Special to The Tribune) President Russell M. Nelson speaks during the concluding session of the 188th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 7, 2018, in Salt Lake City.

LDS Church President Russell M. Nelson said at the recent conference that Jesus would be offended by people using a shortened version of the church’s name. Is it really something that is going to offend Jesus?

WWOJ — What Would Offend Jesus?

Or maybe, is it the way members of “his” church treat LGBTQ individuals?

Or what about members’ treatment of sexual assault victims?

What about asking women in “his” church to take a pause on social media, but not men?

I can go on.

But you really think what offends him is not having his name said? Sounds a little vain for the Jesus people have told me about.
