Americans are thrilled with the economy, stock market and uptick in pay, but beneath this benign growth lurks a malignancy fueled by apathy, ignorance and complacency that will erode our democracy.

Where’s America’s rage over a presidency, Congress and political pundits who condone removal of children from their folks, or the daily attacks against Robert Mueller, the FBI, and Department of Justice, while doing nothing to prevent Russia’s interference in upcoming midterm elections, or the blatant disregard for the environment, or the praising of dictators while alienating our allies, or the condemnation of anyone opposing Trump, or the support of a president who’s told over 3,200 lies since taking office, or the alleged payoffs to silence women who catered to Trump’s sexual whims and infidelity, or the myriad other moral and constitutional abuses too numerous to list?

This growing apathy, complacency and ignorance, which is replacing moral obligation with a false sense of security, is a perfect recipe for a constitutional crisis and national disaster. Martin Luther King opined it best by saying, “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” Americans are currently a shining beacon of this apocalyptic statement!
