Evening lane closures coming to S.R. 201 for several days

(Francisco Kjolseth | Tribune file photo) Signs identify the last stage of the Mountain View Corridor at 4100 South which will soon be extended to S.R. 201.

State officials are warning drivers to plan for delays from lane closures for the next several nights on the State Road 201 freeway near 5600 West in West Valley City.

The Utah Department of Transportation says lane closures planned there include:

• Tuesday beginning at 8 p.m. until Wednesday at 5 a.m., traffic in both directions will be reduced to one lane.

• Wednesday from 8 a.m. until Thursday at 5 a.m., all westbound lanes will be closed, and eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

• Thursday from 8 p.m. to Friday at 5 a.m., all eastbound lanes will be closed, and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

UDOT said drivers should expect some lane restrictions through Sunday with times and directions yet to be determined.

The restrictions will allow crews to continue bridge demolition and preparation for a new bridge for the Mountain View Corridor over S.R. 201.

The new extension of the Mountain View Corridor highway from 4100 South to S.R. 201 is scheduled for completion next summer. More information about that project is available online at mountainview.udot.utah.gov.

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Updated information is available online at udottraffic.utah.gov or on UDOT Traffic app.
