The Utah Transit Authority is offering $5 lunch vouchers to thank riders for their patience during recent construction to replace TRAX rails in downtown Salt Lake City. They are good for food at restaurants affected by the now-complete construction.

The agency will distribute vouchers Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at four Salt Lake City TRAX stations: North Temple escalators (500 W. North Temple); City Center (100 S. Main Street); Courthouse (450 S. Main Street); and Central Pointe (2100 S. 221 West).

The vouchers may be redeemed between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 16 and 17 at the following restaurants: Apple Spice Café and Bakery, Apollo Burger, Curry N’ Kabobs, Eva’s Bakery, Itto Sushi, J Dawgs, Jimmy John’s, Mali Thai, Martine Café, Maxwell’s East Coast Eatery, Michelangelo’s on Main, Murphy’s Bar & Grill, The Green Pig Pub, The Ramen Bar, Three Pines Coffee, White Horse Spirits & Kitchen and Whiskey Street Cocktails & Dining.

UTA spokesman Carl Arky said the vouchers are being paid out of UTA’s marketing and communications fund, and were planned as part of communications for the projects that replaced tracks on 400 South, Main Street and South Temple. He said UTA is distributing 3,000 vouchers, so the maximum cost if all are redeemed is $15,000.
