The Utah Transit Authority has partnered with the base to offer free shuttles and discounted transit passes.

If you are planning to check out this weekend’s air show at Hill Air Force Base, you’re among about 600,000 people with the same plan.

To get those 600,000 people to and from the 2022 Warriors Over the Wasatch Air & Space Show on Saturday and Sunday as smoothly as possible, Hill Air Force Base has partnered with the Utah Transit Authority, so attendees can focus on enjoying shows of speed and precision from the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and a dozen other acts instead of being stuck in traffic.

General admission to the air show is free, and VIP tickets are sold out. Gates open at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Visit theutahairshow.com for more information.

Below is a handy guide on getting to the air show and finding parking, as well as lists of what attendees can and can’t bring to the base.

If you don’t want to drive:

FrontRunner will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, with 30-minute peak service and 60-minute midday service — view the schedule here. Attendees will need to get off at the Clearfield Station in order to go to the air show.

On Sunday, Front-Runner trains will arrive every 30 minutes between 7 a.m. and noon, and between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. In the middle of the day, trains will run every hour — view the schedule here.

You will need to buy a ticket to ride FrontRunner, but UTA is offering a roundtrip discounted air show day pass for $5 per person that’s good for all UTA services (including buses, TRAX and the Streetcar), except the bus to Park City. The discounted $5 pass is valid on June 25-26 only, and can be purchased on the UTA GoRide app. You can download the app on Google Play or in the Apple Store.

If you are traveling with a group, the $15 UTA Group Pass is valid for up to four people. It can be purchased on the UTA GoRide app, on the UTA website, at ticket vending machines, or by calling customer service at 801-743-3882.

Once you get to the FrontRunner Clearfield Station, you can take a free shuttle from the station’s south parking lot to the air show. Shuttles run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every 15 minutes.

If you need a parking space:

You have a few options if you decide to drive to the air show.

The first is driving to the FrontRunner Clearfield Station at 1250 S. State St. in Clearfield, parking your car in one of the 890 spaces available, then taking the free shuttle from the south parking lot to the air show.

The second option is driving to one of the free park & shuttle locations at Weber State Davis Campus, Northridge High School or at Northrop Grumman.

The third option is to park on base, by entering through the Roy or West gates. Drivers will be directed to parking lots just inside those gates.

No attendees will be admitted through the South Gate, and parking along Highway SR-193 to view the show is prohibited “as it affects traffic flow and creates a safety issue,” according to Hill Air Force Base. View the transportation map here.

If you live on-base:

Residents will be directed to use the West Gate between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. — the South Gate won’t be available. The Base Exchange with food court options will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
