Woman critically injured in Murray condo fire

The blaze killed two dogs.

A Murray woman was critically injured when a fire broke out in her condominium early Thursday, according to the Murray City Fire Department. Her two dogs were killed.

The fire at the Three Fountains Condominiums complex at 785 E. 5050 South was reported at about 5:45 a.m. According to a fire department spokesman, when firefighters arrived, they found one unit ablaze, and evacuated the entire building.

The fire was extinguished, and damage is believed to have been confined to the condo where it began.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the fire, which seemed to start in the kitchen, remains under investigation.
