Aspen Cove in Scofield is under evacuation orders because of the Bennion Creek Fire.

The evacuation was announced Thursday evening. Colin Dunn, a public information officer with the U.S. Forest Service, said the evacuation was complete by 8:10 p.m. About 30 to 50 people were evacuated from 10 residences, he said.

The evacuation was caused by “extreme fire behavior and forecasted winds” that are expected to push the fire toward Aspen Cove, the Manti-La Sal National Forest tweeted.

Aspen Cove is a recreational property development in Carbon County.

Dunn said the fire was over 1,900 acres Wednesday night, which is the most recent acreage information.
