Cases remained low Wednesday, though there was an increase in those hospitalized, including those in an intensive care unit. And the number vaccines administered rebounded after the slow Memorial Day weekend.
Vaccine doses administered in past day/total doses administered • 6,443 / 2,602,355.
Utahns fully vaccinated • 1,224,701.
Cases reported in past day • 200.
Deaths reported in past day • Three — a Weber County man between ages 25 and 44, a Salt Lake County man 65-84, and a Utah County woman 65-84.
Tests reported in past day • 2,904 people were tested for the first time. A total of 6,347 people were tested.
Hospitalizations reported in past day • 136. That’s six more than on Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 54 are in ICUs, six more than Tuesday.
Percentage of positive tests • Under the state’s original method, the rate is 6.9%. That’s higher than the seven-day average of 6.6%.
The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Tuesday’s rate was 3.2%, lower than the seven-day average of 3.9%

Totals to date • 406,482 cases; 2,305 deaths; 16,863 hospitalizations; 2,697,175 people tested.
