Over 1.1 million Utahns have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning nearly 35% of the state’s population has received either both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Over 1.378 million Utahans have received at least one dose of the Modern or Pfizer vaccines, about 43% of the state’s population.
And with vaccines recently becoming available to children ages 12 and older, nearly 36,000 people in the ages 12 to 18 category have been fully vaccinated, or almost 10% of the population that’s eligible for the vaccine. Over 62,000 people in the same category have received at least one dose, or 17% of the eligible population.
Altogether, nearly 56% of Utahns ages 12 and up have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while nearly 43% of Utahns ages 12 and up have been fully vaccinated.
The Utah Department of Health also reported 320 new cases and two more deaths caused by COVID-19 on Saturday. The deaths occurred before April 14, and were only recently confirmed to be the result of the coronavirus.

Cases reported in past day • 320.
Deaths reported in past day • Two, a male Salt Lake County resident between the ages of 65 and 84 who wasn’t hospitalized, and a female Utah County resident between the ages of 25 and 44 who was in a long-term care facility resident.
Tests reported in past day • 4,915 people were tested for the first time. A total of 11,326 people were tested.
Hospitalizations reported in past day • 145. That’s two fewer than on Friday. Of those currently hospitalized, 51 are in intensive care, five more than on Friday.
Percentage of positive tests • Under the state’s original method, the rate is 6.5%. That’s the same as the seven-day average of 6.5%.
The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Saturday’s rate was 2.8%, lower than the seven-day average of 3.6%.
