Utah’s mask mandate might be ending on Saturday, but the University of Utah will continue to require masks on campus.
“Face coverings will continue to be required in all university-owned and -operated buildings based on public health guidance from the state, CDC and University of Utah Health after the state’s formal mask mandate ends on April 10,” the U. said in a news release.
The U. plans to hold most classes in-person this fall, and has not made a decision yet about whether masks will still be required. That will be determined closer to the start of the new academic year based on public health guidance, according to the news release.
The university is encouraging everyone in its community to get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible and to participate in weekly testing, which the U. is offering for free.
