The percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in Utah inched up on Tuesday, slightly exceeding a third of the total tests administered in the past day. State health officials have said that a positivity rate of 5% or less indicates the virus is under control.
The total number of positive tests was 16% higher than the rolling seven-day average. And another seven coronavirus deaths were reported, three more than on Monday.
Vaccinations reported in past day/total vaccinations • 7,406 / 55,981.
Cases reported in past day • 3,318.
Deaths reported in past day • 7.
The deaths reported Wednesday are • Two women (both older than 85) and one man (65-84) in Washington County; one Davis County man (65-84); one Salt Lake County man (45-64); one Utah County man (65-84); and one Weber County man (65-84).
Hospitalizations reported in past day • 510. That’s up 26 from Monday. Of those currently hospitalized, 167 are in intensive care units — three more than on Monday.
Tests reported in past day • 9,854.
Percentage of positive tests • 33.67%. This is higher than the seven-day average of 32.14%.
Totals to date • 288,951 cases; 1,312 deaths; 11,356 hospitalizations; 1,762,178 tests.
