Utah’s newest liquor and wine store opened Monday in Saratoga Springs.
The 11,250-square-foot building, at 1285 N. Exchange Drive, is the 48th store operated by the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Patrons lined up outside what is the sixth state-run liquor outlet for conservative Utah County just prior to its official 11 a.m. opening. There also are state liquor stores in Provo, Orem, Springville, Pleasant Grove and Payson.
The interior features wider aisles and single-line queuing at checkout, which helps to avoid the long lines that often wind through the product aisles of older stores, DABC officials said. It also has a “premium products room” that displays rare bottles in individually lit windows.
The exterior features wood trim and a sculpture — called “Dynamic Landscape” — by artists Rob and Shelly Beishline.
