Woman struck and killed by several vehicles on I-215

Police are investigating after a woman was killed early Friday morning when she walked or ran onto Interstate 215 and was struck by several vehicles.

The woman, who has not been identified, was killed at about 12:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-215 near 4700 South in Taylorsville. The Utah Highway Patrol shut down all northbound lanes for several hours, reopening the highway to traffic by about 6 a.m.

A UHP spokesman told FOX 13 the area where the woman was killed was treated as a crime scene “based on the circumstances of her being on the freeway and trying to figure out who she is and where she came from.”
