No one injured in police shooting in West Point

Davis County Sheriff’s deputies were “involved” in a shooting on Tuesday morning, but no one was wounded, officers said.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies “responded to a report of a suspicious male at a residence in West Point” near 4600 West and 800 North at about 10 a.m. “Shots were fired, no one was injured.”

The suspect was taken to a hospital because of “an unrelated medical issue.” When he’s released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Davis County jail, police said.

The sheriff’s office provided no further details. No information was released about the identity of the man, or who fired shots at whom. The shooting is under investigation by the Davis County Critical Incident Protocol team. The Davis County Sheriff’s Office “will provide an update in a few days,” according to the release.
