Holladay • Workers from Brimley Neon, which specializes in vintage sign repair, removed the Cotton Bottom Inn’s iconic rabbit sign Thursday.

The bar closed earlier this week for a major remodel. The new owners — the same folks who own Salt Lake City’s Bar X and Park City’s Eating Establishment — are in the process of buying the business from Holladay.

The contract is expected to be finalized in March, said co-owner Jeff Barnard. Crews will then spend the next several months remodeling the kitchen and restrooms as well as building a new dining room to allow for more seating.

The business — with its new and improved sign — is expected to reopen in the fall.
