Salt Lake City’s downtown library is the newest place in town where people can apply for a passport — and it has later hours than any of the three other locations.

The main library, 210 E. 400 South, will accept passport applications Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will take applications on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., according to a news release.

It is the only facility routinely open for passport applications past 4 p.m. on weekdays.

The other locations are:

Salt Lake County Clerk, 2001. S. State St.

Salt Lake City Main Post Office, 1760 W. 2100 South

University of Utah Learning Abroad office, 200 S. Central Campus Drive

To apply for a passport, a person needs an application; proof of identity, such as a driver license; proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate; and a recent 2-inch by 2-inch photo. A passport application fee is $110 per applicant over the age of 16 and $80 for those under 16. A separate $35 acceptance/execution fee is also required. All payments must be maid via check.
