Herriman police investigating racist, offensive graffiti found at school, LDS church

Police are searching for vandals they believe spray-painted racist and offensive graffiti across a 2-mile area in Herriman.

FOX 13 reports that graffiti — including a swastika — was discovered Thursday morning at Herriman High School, in addition to a Latter-day Saint church and seminary.

“It’s offensive, and it frankly has no place in our society or our community,” Lt. Cody Stromberg told FOX 13. “To us, it’s a huge deal because it makes people feel uncomfortable.”

He said the vandalism could be considered a hate crime.
