A home invasion robbery turned deadly for one of the robbers on Tuesday night.

Multiple people broke into a home near 200 Rendon Court at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to police, and at least one person who was inside the home chased several of them back out.

Shortly thereafter, police received a report of shots fired in the area. They located a car that had crashed into the median in the center of the roundabout at the intersection of 200 North and 600 West.

According to police, a man who was inside the home pursued the robbers and fired at them. The 18-year-old driver of the car, Abubakar Mohammad, was struck and killed, causing the crash. Police have not said if the person who fired the shots has been taken into custody.
