BYU to enclose business school atrium in glass after December suicide

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Brigham Young University students posted messages of love and support in the Tanner Building Dec. 4 after a student attempted suicide in the building on Dec. 3, 2018. The school announced Jan. 22, 2019 that they would enclose the atrium with taller glass.

After a student died by suicide falling from the atrium inside Brigham Young University’s Tanner building in December, the university announced this week plans to enclose the atrium with glass.

FOX 13 reports that the university will replace the glass parapet walls surrounding the atrium’s walkway with taller glass. Construction on the new walls is set to begin “immediately," and will be completed in early April, FOX 13 reported.
