A Salt Lake City man who worked at Summit Academy High School in Bluffdale has been charged for having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl.

Trevor Lawrence Ott, 31, was charged earlier this month in 4th District Court with five counts of third-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Ott, who was a part-time coach at the high school at the time of Jan. 29 arrest, has resigned, according to KUTV.

According to a probable cause statement, Ott twice engaged in sexual activity with the teen in Utah County.

The two met on social media. They were communicating on an application called Wisper, but the victim blocked Ott after the first sexual incident, police documents state.

He then initiated contact with the victim on Instagram. The two again engaged in sexual conduct. On one occasions, Ott picked the girl up from Springville High School, where she was enrolled, according to a search warrant affidavit. During that occasion, the two did not have sex, but the girl undressed for Ott in his vehicle, court documents state.

The girl reported the sexual activity to the Springville police, the affidavit states. She told them Ott was a soccer coach, though the affidavit does not say he was a high school coach.

Ott was arrested, and on the same day his iPhone was searched. Police found four nude photos of the victim on Ott’s phone, and she told police Ott had sent her nude photos of himself.

Bail for Ott was set at $25,000 cash-only, which he posted on Feb. 1, court records show.

A scheduling hearing is set for March 8.
