Family and friends of a Murray man, last seen at his home Thursday evening, plan an organized search for him Saturday morning.

Nick Kapos, 82, left his residence in the area of 300 East and 4600 South about 7 p.m. Thursday to take a walk but did not return, his family reported.

The search party plans to gather at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, at 160 E. 4600 South in Murray.

Volunteers may be asked to drive to surrounding cities to search and distribute flyers, a news release from Kapos’ family said.

His family said he suffers from early stages of dementia and is normally unable to walk any distance without resting.

Kapos, who is about 5-feet-3-inches, was wearing a short-sleeved, red plaid button-down shirt and jeans when he was last seen. He weighs about 145 pounds.

Anyone with information on Kapos’ whereabouts is asked to call Murray police at  801-840-4000.
