Hello Kitty pop-up cafe returns, bringing cookies, pies and other ‘too cute’ treats to Murray’s Fashion Place Mall

The Hello Kitty Cafe, a mobile food truck, returns to Murray on April 14.

That pop-culture princess with the iconic bow returns to Utah on Saturday, April 14, in her pink mobile vehicle of cuteness.

Fans can find the pop-up Hello Kitty Cafe at Fashion Place Mall, 6191 S. State St., between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Look for it near the Red Rock plaza on the south side of the mall.

The cafe’s sweet menu will include giant cookies, pocket pies, cookie sets, petit fours and a macaron box.

There also will be bow-shaped water bottles, key chains, headbands and T-shirts for sale.

Hello Kitty was introduced Nov. 1, 1974, by the Japanese company Sanrio. Initially, the wide-eyed cartoon character — who has no mouth — was aimed at preteens, but in recent years Hello Kitty has become a multi-generational marketing phenomenon, appearing on everything from socks to expensive jewelry.
