Slide some stones across the ice, and enjoy snacks and cocktails, on the hotel’s balcony.

A pair of pop-up curling lanes will provide a different kind of date-night experience in downtown Salt Lake City in February.

The Hyatt Regency, at 170 S. West Temple, is offering “curling and cocktails” on the hotel’s sixth-floor Sundance Terrace for the month of February — for those wanting to try the Olympic sport involving large concrete stones skimming across the ice toward a target circle.

The two lanes — not regulation size, as curling purists will point out — will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays, and from noon to 4 p.m on Saturdays and Sundays.

The experience is $80 for two people, and an additional $40 for each person added to the group. Maximum of 8.

The cover charge includes one hour of curling, and one drink and a snack per person.

Go to the Hyatt Regency’s event website — at www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/utah/hyatt-regency-salt-lake-city/slcrs — to make reservations.

Another romantic possibility at the Hyatt Regency: A snow globe dining experience at Mar | Muntanya, the Spanish-inspired restaurant on the hotel’s sixth floor.

Couples can enjoy their dinner from a private temperature-controlled snow globe on the restaurant’s outdoor patio. The globes — which can hold up to eight diners — can be booked year-round for dinner under the stars, or for brunch service.

Reservations for the globes can be made on Mar | Muntanya’s Tock page — www.exploretock.com/mar-muntanya-salt-lake-city. A minimum $50 pre-payment is required to reserve a snow globe, which will be applied toward the bill.
