Cabin fever is a minor ailment compared to COVID-19 — but a lot of people may suffer from it in the coming weeks, with so many places closing and events being canceled in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
A few Salt Lake City-area entities were remaining open, though with restrictions to stay within the state of Utah’s recommended limits against mass gatherings. This list may be subject to change, but these are among the businesses working to stay open:
• The Phillips Gallery, at 444 E. 200 South, will be open normal hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

• Update: The Megaplex Theatres chain, which has 15 locations in Utah, is closing indefinitely, effective March 18.
• Update: The Grand Theatre has canceled its production of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” using Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel, that was to start March 26.
• Update: Tracy Aviary & Botanical Garden, in Liberty Park, is closed until further notice, as of March 17.
• Update: Brewvies Cinema Pub, at 667 S. 200 West in Salt Lake City, is closing until further notice.
• Update: The Kansas-based AMC Theatres chain — which has three locations in Utah: in Layton, West Jordan and Provo — has closed all locations.
• Update: The King’s English bookshop is closing its brick-and-mortar store, but still selling books online. It has canceled all author events for the near future.
