After posting two big scores over the weekend, Utah moved to within .025 of the Gym Dogs in the latest rankings.
Florida, Michigan and Alabama round out the Top 5. UCLA, which the Utes defeated 197.45-195.825 Sunday in Los Angeles, remained in ninth.
Oregon State, Utah's opponent on March 7, dropped two spots to No. 10.
Southern Utah is just out of the Top 25 at No. 26 (194.005).
Utah beat Georgia 196.3-196.2 in the season opener. Michigan (11-0), No. 6 Oklahoma (14-0) and Utah (9-0) are the only undefeated teams.
After competing at home against the Beavers, the Utes will visit Florida and Michigan. Noting the schedule that awaits, Utah coach Greg Marsden hopes the convincing win over the Bruins will add to his team's confidence.
"It's good to go on the road, at UCLA, and compete against a team we expect to see in April and do as well as we did," he said. "I know their last few events were rough, but still, it was a close meet after two rotations and we handled it well."
Senior Ashley Postell, who is undefeated in the all-around this season, is ranked No. 1 in that event at 39.62 while junior Kristina Baskett is fifth (39.375).
Postell is also ranked first on the vault (9.94), first on the balance beam (9.915), tied for second on the floor (9.92) and eighth on the uneven bars (9.88). Baskett is seventh on the vault (9.9) and fourth on the uneven bars (9.91).
Postell, also undefeated on the balance beam, said she is trying not to think about her winning streaks. She has seven all-around wins this season, which is four shy of the school record held by Suzanne Metz. She won nine individual titles in the two meets during the weekend, giving her 29 for the season. The school record is 40, held by Theresa Kulikowski. Postell has 102 career wins, 10 short of Kulikowski's record.
"When people start talking about it or I think about it, I get nervous," Postell said of her wins. "I try to put it out of my mind and just focus on the routines."
As a team, Utah is ranked first on the vault (49.34), fourth on the bars (49.24), second on the beam (49.205) and second on the floor (49.305).
The rankings are determined by the regional qualifying score, arrived by taking a team's top six scores, three of which must be on the road, throwing out the high and averaging the remaining five scores.
