Sakoda earned the award for the third straight week, becoming just the third player to do so in conference history to do so.
The others were Utah's Alex Smith in 2006 and BYU's John Beck in 2004.
Sakoda had field goals of 41 and 32 yards in the Utes' 27-20 win over TCU Thursday. He also averaged 44 yards on his seven punts.
Picking up offensive Player of the Week honors was Colorado State running back Gartrell Johnson, who rushed for a career-high 162 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns in a 48-23 victory at UNLV.
The defensive honors went to Air Force safety Bobby Giannini who recorded a career-high 15 tackles, including 11 solo stops, in Air Force's 20-12 win over Wyoming.
As for Sakoda, TCU corrected its official stats Monday and gave the blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown to the team and not to Sakoda.
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said the blocked punt wasn't Sakoda's fault either.
"It was just a great individual effort by a TCU player coming up and over the shield," he said. "His vertical jump must have been 40 inches and he timed it perfectly."
The blocked punt, plus TCU's 27.5 average on kickoff returns made special teams one of Utah's worst areas against the Horned Frogs. However, because of the Utes' normally good play in that area Whittingham didn't seem too concerned.
"In general we've been solid and we've done some good things," Whittingham said.
Injury report
Bradon Godfrey, who didn't play at receiver Thursday because of a lower back strain, is expected to be available Saturday.
"That thing just never got any better last week," Whittingham said. "But I'm close to 100 percent certain he'll be ready to go this week."
