At this rate, the Utes are going to need name tags when they begin basketball practice next fall.
Utah basketball coach Jim Boylen announced another addition from the junior college ranks on Thursday, signing combo guard Chris Kupets of Hill College in Texas.
Kupets is the fourth junior college transfer to sign with the Utes this spring.
"Chris is a combo guard who can both score and create offensive opportunities for his teammates," Boylen said in a school news release. "He reminds me of other players I have coached like Tyler Kepkay here, or Drew Nietzel at Michigan State. He plays an up-tempo style and will fit well in our pick-and-roll system."
Kupets, 5-foot-11, is from Athens, Ga. He was a second-team all-North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference selection last year while leading his team in scoring with a 15.9 average.
He also led the Rebels in assists (5.5) and was fourth in the league in that category.
"I could tell right away that it would be a great relationship with the coaches and current players at Utah," Kupets said in the release. "I think my style of play, scoring and getting up and down the court, will fit well in the program. They have some great players coming in and some great players already there. I think they have a chance to win and I am really excited to be a part of that."
