Utah senior Daria Bijak 's senior year didn't start the way she wanted it to, but she has no complaints about the ending.

Bijak scored a 39.525 in the all-around Friday to finish second to Florida's Marissa King , who won the competition with a 39.575.

Bijak posted a 9.85 on the vault, a 9.925 on the uneven bars, a 9.85 on the balance beam and a 9.9 on the floor to earn her second-highest score in the all-around of the year.

"It was a good meet, I had fun," Bijak said. "There was a couple of low scores, I thought my beam was better, but I feel like the old Daria again."

Bijak said she is more relaxed as her senior year winds down rather than being uptight about every little mistake. The result has been some of her best scores of her career.

"More and more she is getting comfortable in her role," Utah coach Greg Marsden said. "She is embracing her senior year and she is doing a good job for us."

King scored 9.9s on all events except the floor where she scored a 9.875.

Back in the lineup

Utah junior Gael Mackie , who missed the three previous meets with a sprained ankle, earned a 9.775 on the uneven bars.

Mackie replaced sophomore Cortni Beers in the lineup.

Beers has been fighting an illness and a foot injury and was kept out of the bars lineup because the Utes were concerned about her stamina, Marsden said.

Staying out of the lineup

Beth Rizzo , Utah's usual leadoff gymnast on the floor who has been sidelined with a toe injury, was going to compete Friday but was replaced by freshman Katelyn Mohr .

Mohr scored a 9.825. Last week she scored a 9.75 in her first collegiate vault.
