When he looks for advice on what to expect in Provo for his first BYU-Utah game, freshman quarterback Jordan Wynn doesn't have to go far.

Wynn often confides in Brian Johnson , the Utes' winningest quarterback who frequently visits the Utes' practices.

"I definitely appreciate having him there to talk to," Wynn said. "I'll keep talking to him. He has a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge that I can gain."

Aside from insight, Wynn already has gained something else from Johnson: his No. 3 jersey.

Wynn said he picked the number because he wore it in high school then later asked Johnson if he could wear it.

"I sat down and said I'll change my number if you want me to because

he is a legend here but he was cool and said it was nothing to worry about," Wynn said.

Wynn is among the first to remind everyone the number Johnson made the number popular, not him.

"It's kind of a weird thing in the stadium, I'll see No. 3 and I say, 'That's not my number, that's Brian's,' " Wynn said. "People come up and say 'Oh they are wearing your jersey' and I say that's not mine, it's Brian's.

"I don't know if I'll ever be able to say it's my number, honestly," Wynn said. "The legacy he left here, if I can live up to half of what he did, I'll be proud of myself."

Johnson, who was 26-7 in his career, was 1-1 against the Cougars. He and the Utes lost 17-10 in Provo in 2007 and won last season's
